About

Matthew 13:31-32

The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his field. It is the smallest of all seeds, but when it has grown it is larger than all the garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches.

What will it look like?

Disciple18 – Grow is not a conference but an experience. An experience of what life as the body of Christ could look like. Disciple18 – Grow is a call to the family of God to step into the life that Jesus has for them. A life that transforms not just our lives but the lives of those around us.

Jesus planted the life of God into his church. We are the body of Christ. That means that each and everyone has something to bring to the community, a gift, a talent, and their unique personality. As we realize that through Christ we are the family of God – true community is born as we live life together.

Alan Hirsch has famously said that “we’re perfectly designed to achieve what we are currently achieving”. Our conviction is that if we want to see the world changed for Jesus – change needs to start with us – by letting us be formed by Jesus.

During the conference participants will be placed into mid-size communities that will seek to live out life as the people of God together. The communities will be led by volunteers and seek to model a taste of life in community as it should be.

As disciples we believe our life should be centered around the great commandment to love God and love our neighbour. In our communities we want to give time to live in the three great relationships: our relationship to God (UP), our relationship to the family of God (IN) and the relationship to the world (OUT).
